There are advantages to forming a chapter of ABATE of SC in your county. Chapters are listed at ABATESC.COM and in the ABATE of SC Newsletter. Any events your chapter sanctions through ABATE may be listed in the events section of our web site and newsletter. Your chapter can have a voice in ABATE of SC and the election an area coordinator to represent you at the quarterly state meetings. However many members find enjoying fellowship with like minded individuals most rewarding.

Alert List / Biker Ezine:
This biker ezine is sent weekly or as situations require and provides information about biker rights in South Carolina and the United States. If you only subscribe to one of our lists this one is highly recommended. While the other lists require an approval process you may join this list instantly without proof of membership.
Motorcyclists should realize that accident avoidance skills are even more important than protective wear. Riding a motorcycle requires skills and coordination not required to drive a car. Hesitation can be a killer; you must be able to react immediately. If you are new to motorcycling learn these skills today and practice till the skills become second nature. Important riding skills include steering, braking, shifting, and packing passengers.

Why Lobby? To make biker rights a reality, you must convince legislators that your position makes sense. Visiting a legislator is an essential tactic for furthering your campaign. Lobby visits can be made on the local, state, or national level, depending on the particular issue you are supporting. A lobby visit can be an incredibly rewarding experience, and all bikers should meet with their elected officials to discuss motorcyclists rights issues.
ABATE does not advocate riding without a helmet; ABATE advocates that you have the right to decide. ABATE does not condone drinking and driving or riding. Contributions to ABATE of South Carolina, Inc., or any of its chapters are not tax deductible.
